Truth be told.

Majority of us who write about, talk about and operate our own businesses are not building systems that will make the businesses perform better for us.
It is given that we were not groomed to build systems. We were taught to live for today (live for now). But let’s face it, is it not self-sabotage to continue living that way?
Bill Gate said “it is not your fault that you were born poor. But it will be your fault if you die poor.”
When a life coach, psychologist, psychiatrist, therapist, public speaker and other idea merchants are invited to enroll for programmes or courses that will facilitate building systems, the default response is ‘I will do it the way I know it’ or ‘I no need am’.
But I doubt if you don’t.
In the past 15 years of my post undergraduate days, I have transited from being an ICT analyst, to being an e-payment resource person to being a project expediter to becoming a therapist.
I AM A THERAPIST WHO IS BUILDING A BUSINESS OF BEHAVIOURAL CHANGE.
I have had the privilege of learning under men and women who mine opportunities, grow men and know their business books.
People like Mr Olanrewaju Kayode Elijah, Dr Bala Mohammed, Dr Steve Olusegun Ogidan, Mr Agada Apochi, Mrs Latifat Balogun, Ibrahim Maigari Ahmadu and several other liberal souls.
My belief is that we can grow global enterprises with local roots. That’s what SOBCA is all about.
There are 2 kinds of us:
The first are those of us who believe in PERSONAL/SELF DEVELOPMENT but who are slow to acquire CERTIFICATIONS. This is the kind I truly admire.
This kind know their work very deeply even though they don’t have the clout they need.
The challenge with this kind is that they may not earn the type of money and influence that they seek. This is because any organization that is worth her onions that will hire you will demand proof of your competence (certification).
Before I was confirmed, to facilitate (and coach) teams, by the US Embassy Lagos, and Abuja; NLNG and USAID (for their Gembu-Mambilla Plateau project) to mention a few, my certifications were demanded for and verified. Such organizations believe in appropriation.
The second are those who acquire all forms of certifications but do not have the character of learning.
I FEAR THIS KIND OF PEOPLE.
These are the ones who have created a tribe relating to industry charlatans. They make practising tough. They frustrate impact. They have sustained a lacuna of depth. Such people are hungry for titles. They want to be called ‘Coach’, ‘Consultant’, ‘Entrepreneur’. BE VIGILANT AROUND THEM.
To both kinds, neither is wrong or evil. Either kind just needs to BUILD CAPACITY TO SERVE THEIR CHOSEN MARKET.
In business, 3 years, 5 years, 7 years and 10 years are PRIMARY MILESTONE YEARS. If you have been operating for a minimum of 3 years, there is a threshold you should have reached, IF YOU MEAN TO DO BUSINESS.
These are the kinds of people I wish to engage and empower. Those who are intentional about evolving into grand owners of global shares in the market.
